1.Enter the UK during coronavirus
When you travel to England from abroad you:
- Do not need to take any COVID-19 tests before you travel or after you arrive
- Do not need to fill in a UK passenger locator form
- Do not need to quarantine when you arrive
This applies whether you are vaccinated or not.

2.Get tested for coronavirus (COVID-19)
Most people without COVID-19 symptoms do not need to get lateral flow tests.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19
Get a PCR test as soon as possible if you have any of these symptoms, even if mild:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should stay at home and avoid contact with other people.
If you're eligible for new COVID-19 treatments you should be sent a PCR test to use if you have symptoms. If you do not have a PCR test at home, you can use a rapid lateral flow test.
3.When to stay at home if you have coronavirus (COVID-19) and what to do
If you have COVID-19, you should stay at home while you're infectious to others. This can be for up to 10 days from when your symptoms start. Many people will no longer be infectious to others after 5 days.
You can do a rapid lateral flow test from 5 days after your symptoms started (or the day you had the test if you do not have symptoms) and another the next day. If both tests are negative and you do not have a high temperature, you're less likely to pass COVID-19 to others and you can go back to your normal routine.
If your test result is positive on day 5, you can carry on doing rapid lateral flow tests every day until you get 2 negative test results in a row.
